Ciao Tutti come state?!
Ok so this week was another
great week! i love it here in italy! We are having so many lessons and the
language is really starting to come along to the point where i can understand a
lot of the lessons and throw in my thoughts a lot more often so that they can
understand and respond back. We got 2 new investigators and both are doing
really great with our lessons so far! this saturday was anziano allen's
birthday and it was so cool because we had a lesson with one of our new
investigators and got a baptismal date with her for september 28th and we also
met with our 13 year old investigator who's mom is a less active member but is
going to church every sunday and so is he and we set a baptismal date for the
7th of september and he totally accepted! it was such a great day! this week
was so great! i also got two free gelato's and a free kebab this week haha. a
kebab is a muslim sandwhich filled with lamb meet and lettuce and sauce that is
sooooo good! like really though it is to die for. its really cool how we got
the free kebab tho becuase we just recently got a new rule from pres. dibb that
we can teach muslims now as long as they wouldnt be in any danger if they were
to change religions since thats a big deal in their religion. so last night it
was 9pm and we were on our way home, starved and were out of food in our
apartment and we walked by a kebab shop and a couple of muslims were outside
smoking cigarettes (everybody in italy smokes by the way.... really gross) and
we stopped to say hi because we felt really good about talking to them. so one
of them kinda walked away not wanted to hear anything but one man was really
into what we were saying and we had probably the BEST conversation about
religion and how similar christians are to muslims and how everyone in the
world is equal and what not. and we taught him a little about the restoration
and it was just a really great experience. so afterward he invited us to have a
free kebab and drink since his cousin owned the shop and he worked there often.
so we ate and talked more about our church and more about him and his life and
we gave him a pass along card if he was ever interested to learn more.
it was a really cool experience because
we were so hungry and because we followed the promting to talk to these men not
only were we fed but we also got to have an amazing conversation and give a
pass along card to this man who might end up being really interested one day
and become an investigator! well to answer a few questions we didnt end up
going to lecco because we went to sirmione instead but we are planning on going
next week so hopefully we do and i get some really cool pictures! and yes we
get fed by member families like twice a week! every sunday and then once during
the week which is really nice becasue it helps me with my italian and it helps
me and the members gain a better relationship which is so important to have. my
allergies are not that bad at all actually so thats not a worry lol. and sorry
mom i dont have any recipies for you yet... but dont worry ill get some for
sure!
I love this work so much and everyday i
can see my testimony growing stronger and stronger that this church truly is
the true church on the earth today. i am so grateful for all of you for helping
me make this wonderful decision in my life to serve a mission and i know it is
the best thing i could be doing at this time in my life. i love this gospel so
much and i love doing the lords work.
ok well i gotta go i have a lesson with an
investigator in 40 minutes who really wants to get baptized soon but we have to
change her date and get to to start coming to church! so wish me luck! love you
all so much and cant wait to hear from you next week!
