Ciao i miei amici!
So this past week has been GREAT! We have been having some
good lessons and success for sure! We have 2 new investigaters and they are
doing awesome so far! One in particular is so amazing! we read a little bit of
1st Nephi with her and talked about what we read and she totally understands so
much! Then at the end of the lesson we invited her to baptism and gave her a
date for the 30th of November. She accepted it and we also got another
appointment to meet with her tomorrow! I can't wait! We are also having a
really good time doing member lessons with the branch president. He has a
really cool game plan of how members can do missionary work so we go with him
over to all the families, have a little lesson and then he presents this plan.
Oh my goodness it is such a help when the members join in on the Work of
Salvation!
So yea i am having a BLAST here in La Spezia! My companion
and i get along really well! He grew up in Compton but then moved to a smaller
town near LA im not exactly sure the name though. He has been out for almost a
year now and is pretty good with the language! The other Anziani that we are
rooming with are really fun as well. I dont even need to do abb workouts
because we are constantly having a good time in our apartment haha. Im not sure
if my comp. is related to Cheech Marin but ill ask him after email and get back
to you on that next week lol. He is from a part member family. He used to
be Catholic but was baptized into the church when he was 10. We are having a
great time here in Italy and i have a feeling it's only going to get better :)
So my testimony has grown immensely since the start of my
mission. And one thing in particular that i have really gained a strong
testimony about is the announcement made this last July, "Every Member a
Missionary". I have seen blessing after blessing come from member work
here in Italia. They have had such a huge impact on helping bring Heavenly
Father's children unto this wonderful Gospel. And one simple way that i have
seen members here in Italy do missionary work is by giving simple acts of
service. "And CHARITY suffereth long, and is kind... Wherefore, cleave
unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail-- But
charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found
possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him" (moroni
7:45-47). When we show others the "pure love" of Christ they will
feel it, and it may even help then come one step closer to accepting our
message.
I love this Gospel and the many ways that it has blessed my
life and touched the lives of others not of our faith. I know that even little
acts of service can go a long way. "By small and simple things are great
things brought to pass." I love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all of
the many acts of charity he performed while he was on the Earth, and I know
that as we do the same we will truly be a LIGHT unto the WORLD.
Thanks for all of your wonderful emails I love them so much
and they always make me so happy! I love you guys so much and cant wait to hear
from you next week! tell Dallin he is a stud for me and to keep it up in soccer
but more importantly in SCHOOL! haha love you guys! take care!
Much Love,
Anziano Delgado
