September 4, 2013

Hey Everyone! This week has been soooo great! so this friday we have a baptism for a 13 year old boy and he is bravisimo! The work here is going so well and our inverstigators are really progressing. we have 3 other investigators with baptismal dates and they are doing really well with the lessons they just need to start coming to church! Im really getting better at the language and being able to say my thoughts. monday we had an AMAZING lesson with one of our investigators with a baptismal date. right when we got there she offered us a bunch of fruit, gelato and water and we were starving and really couldnt say no ha. we were sitting outside on her balcony and it was starting to get dark so she lit a few little candles and we continued on with the lesson. when we got to the end we asked her if she could close our meeting with a prayer and she said of course (her prayers are the BEST)! So in the middle of her prayer i started to feel something getting really warm and bright. I opened my eyes and the wind had blown one of the candles into a napkin and totally lit the whole thing on fire! Anziano Allen and i were trying to put it out and then our investigator says "non fa niente!", which means pretty similar to dont worry at all! and then she just went back to praying while we quietly tried to put it out hahaha. But like for real though her prayer was amazing! the spirit was so strong that it started a fire! ;)

This week has been a really relaxing week as well. i got to play the piano a couple times in between lessons at the church which was REALLY nice. i really wish i could learn new songs but i have no time its sad but at the same time i know that missionary work is 10 times better :) I really wish you guys could feel what it's like to be in a lesson where the spirit is so strong and you can tell the investigator knows that what he/she is feeling is something they never felt before. whether they say it or not the look on their face is enough to make everything that we do so worth it. Ahhh its just so amazing here doing this work! i know i have probably said this in a letter before but it is so amazing how God prepares people to hear this Gospel even in a country like Italy where the Catholic religion is so huge. anyone who ever thinks that italy is nothing but a seed planting mission is so wrong. these people want to know God and want a relationship with him like the members of our church has. I LOVE IT! Not a week goes by that my companion and i have a conversation about how amazing italy is and how lucky and blessed we are to have the opportunity to serve here. I love this gospel and the blessings that i have seen come from it in my life and the lives of so many others. i can really see how our Heavenly Father plays a role in everything and everyones life. I know that this church is the true church on the Earth today. I KNOW that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that from reading it a man is able to come closer to God than that of any other book. I love my savior and redeemer Jesus Christ and his example of selfless love and charity when he atoned for the sins of the world. i am so grateful for all of you and the examples you have been for me to serve a mission. i couldn't have done it without you!

I love you guys so very much and thank you for all your wonderful emails and pictures! I can't wait to hear from you next week! Stai retto i miei amici! (stay rightous my friends). Ciao belli!
